Why become an electrician? I was working on the oil rigs when the oil industry dropped. After speaking to some people in the industry, they recommended I take up a trade for when the oil industry has a lull every 10 years or so. With little idea of what that entailed I simply asked which was hardest. They said an electrician due to the level of maths involved. I started an apprenticeship the next week and never looked back. I still love what I do and haven't thought about going back into oil and gas since.
